I'm currently a PhD student in Philosophy at Paris I Pantheon-Sorbonne University (France). My thesis aims at emphasizing the links between computer ontologies and philosophical ones, and between ontologies themselves, of both kinds, and folksonomies (you can learn more about it on my academic webpage either in French or in English). My main interest in philosophy resides in ontologies. Thus, I'd readily define myself as an ontologist (now, don't get me wrong : very few denominations are more open than this one). Since October of this year I also work as a research fellow at the Ecole nationale des Chartes, where I'm encoding various medieval documents (under many guises as some of them date from well before Guttenberg's invention) in TEI/XML. Dealing with digital humanities like I do now is tantamount to exploring another facet of my PhD work. Indeed, Tagxster was originally conceived, much unlike pioneer websites such as del.icio.us or Flickr, as way to allow folksnomies to be used not as a means to share documents but rather as a tool enabling thorough cross-readings of digital texts.
